Rooftops and VIVA VIVA / Hey Ice Machine at Middlesex Lounge

Last Thursday we had the pleasure of celebrating Ferris Wheels and Fresh Hair’s 30th birthday by playing some rock and roll on their roof. It was hot, sweaty and oh so fun and we couldn’t have had a better time if we tried. Thanks to all the people who cheered us on from the street, felt like a U2 video or something! We are also excited to be playing with our good buddies in VIVA VIVA coming up on August 22 at The Middlesex Lounge in Central Square, Cambirdge. Should be a helluva good time. Also on the night resident DJ EL POSER (CVLT, DUSTRI.AL) + IRON FIST (MANEUVER, $ U B L ▲ B). Check the Facebook event here! Hope to see you out there!

Mixing w/ Anthony Saffery (Cornershop) and Adam Taylor (Portugal The Man)

And three days later, the album is mixed!!! We returned to  Q Divsion to work on the songs and hearing them for the first time with all the parts in place was pretty great. We were fortunate enough to have enlisted the skills of  two tremendous producers to help us mix the tunes. Anthony Saffery from the band Cornershop who has helped produce and engineer albums for Portugal The Man and The Lemonheads, as well as Adam Taylor who has worked with Paul Kolderie and Anthony for years as producer and engineer on many projects. We all just sat back and watched them turn this album into something we are very proud of. The songs sound incredible, and we couldn’t be more excited to finish these up. Onto mastering and finalizing some artwork and we will be good to go!!

Night of the Living Deadhead w/ Skaters and Shelterbelt Hey Ice Machine – May 7, 2012

Looks like Cambridge is going to be our home for about a week starting this Sunday, May 6, when we kick off Harvard Square’s 29th Annual Mayfair Festival. The following day (May 7) we are super excited to be part of the “Night Of The Living Deadhead” show at ZuZu in which we will be sharing the bill with the pretty fantastic band Skaters from NYC. Comprised of members from The Dead Trees, Little Joy, Dirty Pretty Things, and The Paddingtons, it has taken them no time to amass a huge following and their debut EP can be downloaded for FREE from their website www.skatersnyc.com. GO PICK IT UP! Also taking place is a pretty sweet Art Show with works by Mary Lewey. DJ’s will be spinning from 8-10 and the bands will follow. ZuZu is a small room and so far as we know, the line is going to be down the street! Get there early and stay late! Check the details:
